Levels of Competition

Show Horse Council of Tasmania conducts an ‘open section‘ for exhibitors and horses that have won or placed at a Royal Show or Horse of the Year competition.

Our prestigious annual Horse of the Year event is held at the picturesque Faulkner Park in Invermay on the October/November long weekend.  We conduct Newcomer and Open classes for the Show Horse and Hunter Horse and Rider classes for Open riders in their appropriate age groups.

Champions and Reserve Champions in our Open Show Horse, Hunter Horse, and Rider classes are invited to compete in the Grand National Saddle Horse Championships held annually in Sydney.
