Measuring Information

Measuring information MUST be read in conjunction with the SHCA Measuring Scheme and Rules (August 1993, December 2016 Edition) Updated May 2019

To obtain a measuring card the horse must be registered with the SHCA and the owner/s must be current financial members of the SHCT. We hold measuring days throughout the year and at each Show conducted by the SHCT.

The measuring is administered by the Show Horse Council of Tasmania and conducted in accordance with the Show Horse Council of Australasia rules. All horses registered with the SHCA are required to have a current SHC measurement. Measuring Days will be advised on our website.

Please organise your Calendar to attend

For the purpose of making this as easy as possible for the measurers, we require all measuring to be planned. No forms or payment will be accepted on the day.

Our representative will have all your paperwork, you will only need to present with your card.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at shctastreasurer@gmail.com

Covid restrictions will apply to these events.

SHC National body has implemented a new measuring card and folder this year. Your horse’s name, Rego number, microchip number, brands, markings, colour, foaling date, and sex will be recorded on the card along with each year’s height, date measured, venue, and measurers signature.

The new card system will make things much easier and quicker on measuring days for our hard-working helpers.
